High Speed

If you need high-speed Internet access at home, you have two options: DSL or cable offered by commercial providers. Cost and availability depend on service area, location, and upload/download speeds. DSL and cable modems can be purchased at electronics retailers. However, you will still need to purchase DSL/cable Internet service in the event you buy your own DSL/cable modem.

For DSL and cable supplied by external providers, some services that Texas A&M offers will be restricted. To be able to access the same university resources while off campus, make sure you have downloaded and installed VPN software and have set up your VPN account. VPN provides you with a secure connection to campus resources, including your network home drive (H: drive).
