Dial-Up
If you need Internet access from home or elsewhere off-campus, one cost-effective option is dial-up. Texas A&M has a bank of 56K modems that gives you dial-up access to the Internet at no charge.
If using this option, you won't need to buy a subscription from a dial-up ISP like AOL, MSN, or Earthlink. All you need to do is configure your modem. For detailed, printable instructions, see Modems. Use your NetID and password as the username and password in the modem set up. The modem dial-up number is 979.862.3800. Dial-up Internet access is only available through this local number; toll-free numbers are not provided, so long-distance charges apply when accessing from outside the local area code. If you need remote dial-up Internet access, visit Texas A&M Telecommunications.
