More Open Access Lab Services

While most departments provide faculty with their own space on departmental web servers, each customer of the Open Access Labs (OAL) have network drive space and web page hosting services. You can activate these services at the Aggie Computing Gateway by clicking Manage OAL Account.

The home or H: drive gives every customer 300 MB of personal storage space that is backed up regularly. It can be accessed from the OAL facilities, the classroom computers supported by Instructional Media Services, and from your office or home. This space can be used to store any personal or academic files, or files you want to make available on your personal web page. Read more at people.tamu.edu.

If you would like your students to use special software for a class, it can be installed on OAL computers that students can readily use. You will need to review the Software Request Guidelines and fill out a Software Install Request form.

If you need students to have hands-on access to computers during a class period or lecture, the OALs have a number of computer classrooms available by reservation throughout the semester. Provided with some lead time, OAL staff can install custom software for your class session.
