NetID
Your Texas A&M NetID is an electronic identifier (username) for logging in and accessing many university resources. The most notable include:
- Howdy Portal
- TAMU Email
- Classroom and Open Access Lab computers
- Software licensing
- eLearning
- TAMULink wireless access
- Virtual Private Network (VPN)
You can activate your NetID online by going to the Aggie Computing Gateway and clicking Activate NetID. You need your UIN to set up your NetID. More information is available at Activating a NetID.
You can also manage your NetID entry at any time by going to the Aggie Computing Gateway. Here you can do the following:
- Change your password.
- Set up self-service password reset.
- Edit your directory entry.
Note: In certain circumstances such as a security issue, you may need to change your NetID. Help Desk Central can help you with this process. Please be aware that changing your NetID affects your email address(es), email delivery, and account access. If you simply want to change your email address, you can set up an extra email address instead of changing your NetID.
