Accounts
When you joined Texas A&M University as a faculty member, a number of accounts and resources were prepared or set up for you. These include computer accounts and resources ranging from email, phones, web space, and Internet access.
Many of these resources at Texas A&M require you to log in to gain access. Depending on the service, you will use either your Universal Identification Number (UIN) or your NetID.
While many resources have been made available for you, some of them will need to be activated before you can start using them. Make sure you do the following:
- Set up a NetID.
- Activate your email account.
- Activate your Open Access Labs account, which gives you access to important campus computing resources.
- Set up VPN for secure access to the campus network from off campus.
- Set up on-campus wireless access on your laptop.
Note: Sometimes a lag may occur in getting these accounts set up due to data feeds or other constraints. If you are having problems activating your account, not sure if your accounts or resources are set up, or need to get your account established, contact your department or call CIS Account Services at 979.845.8417 or account-services@tamu.edu for assistance.
