About Information Technology @ Texas A&M

The Office of the Vice President and Associate Provost for Information Technology (VPAPIT) works with faculty, staff, and students of Texas A&M to provide IT-related services and resources to support the academic and research pursuits of university departments, programs, and offices. Departments of VPAPIT provide Texas A&M campuses across the state and around the world, as well as parts of The Texas A&M System. Resources range from email, network, video and conferencing connectivityclassroom and instructional technology, telecommunications, and enterprise-wide information systems.

Dr. Pierce Cantrell, Vice President and Associate Provost for Information Technology, and his office are also instrumental in implementing Texas A&M's vision for using information technology to meet the university's strategic goals. These include changes and improvements to network and telecommunication infrastructures, enhancing education online and in class through technology, and using information technology to increase the quality and quantity of services delivered to the campus community.
